How do ladybugs change?
Video of Ladybug Life Cycle (Time Lapse)
The ladybug lays eggs on the underside of a leaf, usually near aphids.
In a few days, larvae come out of the eggs. The larvae are long, black and spiky looking with orange or yellow spots. The larva grows quickly and sheds its exoskeleton (skin) as it grows.
When the larva is full grown it attaches to a leaf by its tail and forms a pupa. In a week or two it turns into an adult ladybug.
