What have we learned about butterflies?
We practiced looking at butterflies through the eyes of a scientist and then we used KidPix to draw our butterflies. We tried to make them as real looking as possible. Do you like our butterfly drawings?

Let's look closely at the parts of a butterfly. We practice drawing the parts and then we will go to KidPix on our computers and make our butterflies. We're trying to look at the butterflies like a scientist would study them. And then we practice being artists and draw the butterfly.
We're reading books about butterflies. Some books are fiction and others are non-fiction.
Go to BookFlix and choose Animals and Nature (tab 41-42). You can watch the story Waiting for Wings and you can read the story Butterflies.
We used BookFlix and looked at fiction and non-fiction books. We learned that we could read the non-fiction books alone or we could listen to the words. In the non-fiction books, important words are highlighted in yellow and if we hover our cursor over the highlighted word we can see a thought bubble with the definition of the word. If we wanted to we could listen to the definition.

We're also visiting Internet sites to learn about butterflies. Today we'll go to Safari Park (at the San Diego Zoo) and see a butterfly exhibit.
